Knowing that I crochet and knit, last year my mother’s friend showed me a suitcase full of balls of different materials and colours, still in their original packaging, forgotten for many years, offering me to choose a quality for my work.

I chose a packet of balls of merino wool mixed with acrylic, very thick and soft, light blue in colour: 12 balls of 50 grams which would have been enough for a jumper.

So, as I love to wrap myself in blankets and jumpers, I drew a simple cardigan and tried out different knits and fancy stitches. In the end, I opted for a simple knit of alternating stripes in simple crochet and double crochet stitches and, to embellish it and soften the fit, I finished it off with very soft chenille in a similar colour, a belt and a button.
