Crochet and knitting as therapy
My name is Daniela and I was born a few days before Christmas in 1968. As a child I learned to knit and crochet from my mother and grandmother. Then, as a teenager, my interests moved on to other things: studying, reading, music, travelling. I took up knitting and crocheting again about 5 years ago, because I wanted to make myself a little handbag that I had seen on the internet. Years later, crocheting became therapy: due to undiagnosed health problems, I started suffering from panic attacks. After a few weeks I realised that I could not live with the fears I had and I took matters into my own hands. I tackled things with acupuncture and …. the unicorn! I was able to focus my concentration on my work and not on my body and my state of health. Since then I have not stopped because knitting and crocheting are creative and relaxing activities. In this blog I will tell you about my work, my interests and also about a rare disease that has always accompanied me: anaemia due to Piruvat Kinase deficiency. Thank you for reading me and I hope you will find my stories interesting.
